Leeds - stay in with our take-away and restaurant checklist

There’s no denying that 2020 is a different year to spend at university. Things might look different to how you imagined, as you’re currently encouraged not to venture out of your student house, but that doesn’t mean they can’t still feel fun, and in this case also taste delicious! We’ve rounded up the best take-away and restaurant deliveries in Leeds, and there’s plenty to choose from in this vibrant city.

Why not grab the people you’re now living with, find out everyone’s favourite cuisine and make a night of it? With all of these options, there should be plenty to keep you busy as you get to know the people and plates around you.

Man v Roast

There are some unique things about Leeds, and we think one is this beauty. A carvery, that delivers! Local meats served with all the trimmings; roast potatoes, Yorkshire puddings, gravy and vegetables. They also make a mean carvery meat sandwich.

Looking for something delicious and a bit different? Hummus, oven fresh pitta, and toppings of your choice is the perfect snack at any time of day. This is the spot for taking away the best dip in Leeds or a stuffed pitta for lunch.

Thai Sabai

The curries are delicious, the rice is always perfect, and you absolutely must save space for dessert. The caramelised banana is a real surprise showstopper, and well worth holding back for. There’s also a significant array of vegetarian options, so something for everyone’s diets and preferences.

Ever had Polish food? Think true comfort food of dumplings, delicious meat and filling sandwiches. Open for takeaway and delivery, they’ll fill any stomach!

Corner Café

A Leeds institution, this spot has served up delicious curries since 1976. Three generations of Karim Ghauri’s family have served amazing Indian food on these premises. The food is delicious and traditional, and you’ll be undertaking a Leeds rite of passage.

Sicilian street food might be tricky to picture, so let’s give you some details. A daily special pizza, and a constant offer of Nutella arancini balls. For us, though? It’s the rotisserie chicken served with Italian roast potatoes and Mediterranean vegetables.

HFC Chicken

Does the H stand for hash brown? We don’t know, but it definitely could, as the Supreme Burger comes with regular or spicy chicken, cheese and hash browns. They’re also kings of the value bucket, perfect for sharing as a group.

My House Diner

If it’s indulgence you’re after, this is the spot. When grease is needed to aid recovery, nothing else will do. This American menu covers all bases, including house milkshakes, burgers, kebabs, wings and pizzas.

Order something tasty, and get talking to those new housemates or old course friends. There’s nothing like breaking bread (or burgers, or pizza, or pad thai…) to get friendships forming!
